What a SPECIAL weekend!
What a SPECIAL Baby Shower for a SPECIAL friend!
I love to host.
I love to craft {when there is an actual reason for it --- i.e. decorations for this shower}.
I love to decorate.
I LOVE TO BE CREATIVE!
And let me tell you.... Pinterest was a place that I
So let me get right to it and share with you some pics and details!
I made this card. I wanted to incorporate the theme into the card.
Baby. Boy. Animals. Green. Blue. Fun!
The animals were spray painted. I talked about them here. Such an easy way to incorporate the color scheme throughout the decor! I picked up the letters at JoAnn's and painted them to decorate our sideboard. I also used Scrabble holders and letters throughout the place to add a personal touch. Here I spelled out their last name {which just fit the holder perfectly...whew!}.
Since we live in a condo. I wanted the front door to stand out and begin the festive feel of the party. So, I decorated the door. I made the pinwheels out of cardstock and added some tissue flowers too. I found the frame at Michael's and painted it green. Then I just added the smaller banners that say "Baby Boy"!
When the guests entered, I had them pick up their name tags. A Scrabble sign told them what they were... you know... just cuz it was fun to implement the Scrabble sign again {and the words could fit onto the holder}. I have the instructions on the fabric floral name tags here.
I had a Wishing Tree set up for the Mommy-to-Be.
The printables were free and they matched with the colors and theme for the shower, so it was PERFECT! We found the branch on one of our walks and I just spray painted it yellow {with the left over paint from the animals} to keep a united look with everything else!
And now.... for everything else.
This was SO much fun to do!
I like to use actual plates for parties. I have a collection of white and clear glass plates, so I can use them for any theme, any party, any occasion! The forks are actually disposable forks! Don't they look so elegant and REAL?!
The water bottle labels came from the same source as the wishing tree notecards.
Paper straws.... I know they are so trendy right now... but that is because they are so stinkin' ADORABLE! I used left-over cardstock from the banners to add the flags to them.
I just had to add some festive streamers to the party. So, I mixed Martha Steward Daisies with some home-made banners I created. I just used cardstock, circle punches, yarn, and elephant shaped notebook paper. They were pretty cute! But, didn't distract from the gorgeous view!
Lemon Cake is one of the Mommy-to-Be's favorite. So, I ordered a Lemon Cake from Society Bakery and I made Lemon Cakeballs. Yummy - Yum - YUM!
I added the little cake topper to spread the banner love. It worked out quite well!
I surprised the Mommy-to-Be with the cake. She had pinned this exact one on Pinterest {except it was in pink}. And I thought it was so classy but cute. And the bakery just added this design to their options. PERFECT!
The Aunt-to-Be made this adorable watermelon carrage. And the Grandma-to-Be made SCRUMPTIOUS chicken salad and cucumber sandwiches.
And when the guests left, they all received a party favor box that was filled with animal crackers!
Do you notice these lions? I originally created them to be used for cupcake toppers.
There you have it...
